Hotbot Indexing Triggers

Overview: Learn how to assess your website indexing with search engines

Many search engines have enabled webmaster support such that website owners can easily confirm that their webpages are registered in their catalogs. Below, we demonstrate which trigger words search engines recognize, sample usage and other tips and tricks to determining if your website is currently listed in their indexes. In addition, we added a direct form such that you may perform a query directly from this page.

Hotbot Triggers
Search Engine: Hotbot (Read Our Submission Tips)
URL: http://www.hotbot.com (New Window Opens)
Special Trigger(s): http://hotbot.lycos.com/?RD=DM&Domain=WWW.YOURDOMAIN.COM
Explanation: This trigger will indicate to the search engine that only pages indexed within the catalog that lie on yourdomain.com should be returned. Hotbot will return to you a complete list of all pages that lie on yourdomain.com that exist within the Hotbot catalog. The syntax for this command is the trigger name "RD=DN&Domain=" plus your domain name. Please see the example below for additional help.
Tips and Tricks: Hotbot also has the added ability to narrow a search right up to the specific page you are looking for. This is done in conjunction with the added trigger of "HdB=originurlpath:PATH". The added trigger defines that Hotbot should not only look on yourdomain.com but also look for only documents contained under "PATH". This is best demonstrated through an example, please see below.
Example: http://hotbot.lycos.com/?RD=DM&Domain=www.submitcorner.com (View Result)
and
http://hotbot.lycos.com/?RD=DM&Domain=www.submitcorner.com&HdB=originurlpath:Tools (View Result)
Try Your Site: Check out which pages are indexed of your web site in this search engine. Enter your domain name in the box below and we'll display your results right away.
Notice: For best results, enter your domain name only such as www.submitcorner.com or submitcorner.com. Not all search engines accept a full URL to specific pages on your site.
Assessment Tools: Use our Assessment Tools and we'll query any search engine for you with a single click. Easily track down if your indexed, who's linking to you and who are your competitors from one consolidated form.
Other Triggers
Who's Linking: Find out how many sites and which sites presently link to yours. The more web sites that link to you, the better your site will rank. Now you can quantify exactly how many link to you and from where. Click here to Learn More About Who's Linking with Hotbot.
