AOL Netfind
By Submit Corner
Tell a Friend About This Page
Overview: America Online's Netfind is a very important resource to ensure that AOL users can find your site
AOL Netfind is a co-branded search engine powered by
the Open Directory Project
and by Inktomi, the same database that powers
Hotbot. Although
AOL Netfind is only a branded search engine and shares the same
backend system as other search engines, AOL receives a large volume of traffic each day
and is just as important to ensure your webpages are easy to find.
On the plus side, being a branded search engine ensures that once your site is listed
on one of the search engines will guarantee a similiar listing on the other search engine.
Website Information
Submission & Ranking Process
AOL Netfind uses the same indexing and spidering techniques as the Open Directory Project (for Web Site matches) and
the same techniques as Hotbot (for Web Page matches) since they are powered on the same database engine(s). For submission
details, please cross-reference Open Directory Project Submission details page and
Hotbot's Submission details page.
